True, for many applications. Many other applications simply do not require a specified amount of starting torque beyond what is enough to bring the motor shaft up to speed. INNORAYMOND Soft Starters are not designed to reduce starting torque when it is required, they are designed to 1.) Eliminate excessive inrush current and its damaging effects 2.) Different equipment types require different amounts of starting torque and should be designed with the type of motor that is able to provide a sufficient amount of starting torque. See graph for a torque comparison of different single-phase induction motors.
